Lloyd Bohn 1431 dodges a straining hand. l lx Bayside Rally Crushes Patriots The Marlins began the season with their tradition- al game against Cox. Having the press on their side before the game gave the already fired-up Marlins the added confidence they needed to go on to smash the Falcons by a score of 20-6. The game was highlighted by a 67-yard run by Lance Platz and a 50-yard interception-run by Lloyd Bohn. Both plays resulted in touchdowns. Granby battled the Marlins to an 8-8 tie in a game dominated by brutal defenses. Despite an early Granby score, the Marlins made their pres- ence known by holding the Comet air attack to no yardage and wrecking their running game. The only Bayside score came late in the third quarter on Lance Platz's 44-yard scamper. John Jelley's last minute punt block set up a Billy Petree field goal at- tempt. The slippery field cramped his style, howev- er, so the game ended in deadlock. The following week the Marlins added to their winning streak by walloping First Colonial 22-15. The Patriots' first quarter dream turned into a night- mare when Bayside rallied in the second quarter. During this quarter, the Marlin offense gained all of its 22 points.
