 January 25, 1970 Dear Gene, I hope this letter reaches you, but it's hard to tell with you moving around so much: Florida to Alaska! It has been nearly ten years since we graduated and I think it would be a good idea for you, as senior class president, to call a reunion for this spring or summer. Newspaper work really is exciting and I have pretty well kept up with everyone in our class. Bob Dunham is on a world tour with the present Miss America, Georgiana Kugle, for whom he is publicity manager. Tommy Beuten and his famous orchestra played fanfare for them last week at the 21 Club. John Davis is recovering from his tenth auto accident. One a year and he is still claiming, 'T won't move over for any truck! Janice Luttig, the R. N. in charge of the accident ward, has started saving the arm splints. 1 have heard that Julian Martin has hired Gayle Kimball as head cashier and Roberta Lippert as head bookkeeper for Martin Mercantile, Holesale and Resale's national headquarters, located where the Lewis Mercantile used to be. Senator Thomas R. Miller and Chief Clement Frost had a conference last week. It seems that the Utes are so rich that it is affecting the national economy. Howard Lockwood, Secretary of the Treasury, is very worried about the situation. Bill Newton recently crashed the headlines by winning a drag race - on foot! His wind, and that of several others, has improved since Lorene Caviggia startled the na- tion by putting prohibition back into effect - singlehanded. Wayne Kingsley, mechanical engineer for GMC, has perfected a new car that will be put on the market this fall. It is called the Yelsgnik. He was much to modest to call it Kingsley. Betty Weddle has recently developed a scientific method of raising chinchillas large enough to make a full length coat from one pelt. Carolynne McIntyre was pictured in the latest issue of LIFE wearing one of the fabulous coats. Tom Wells, still single, is happily farming the 40 acres that his father gave him for graduation. Mardella Sower, PTA president, may be able to help you arrange for the accomoda- tions, etc. If you contact Erwin Taylor, basketball coach at Fort Lewis, he may be able to help with the entertainment. But you’ll probably want Mrs. Kenneth Vaughan (Janet Sower), as class secretary, to handle the details. Well, I certainly hope that I get to see everyone this spring. With many memories. Hazel Ann
