TOP ROW -LonneS., PaulD., DanG.f FredK., Keith J., Rupert A., Larry M., Do naldG. BOTTOM ROW -JetuC., NinaP., Kay W., Donna T., Wylena H., Jerolene P., Leroy W. HISTORY We, members of the Senior Class, entered the first grade in the memorable fall of 1947. Mrs. Caldwell taught most of us our ABC's and how to sit still. Al- though it was tough, most of us made it on to the second grade. By that time we were pretty well acquainted. Mrs. Mohney started the school year with us only to turn it over to Miss Green for the rest of the term. Marvin Lewis, Emma Edwards, Billy Carpenter, and Arlene Harris joined the gang that year. Our third grade year, with Miss Lucas and Mrs. Falican as teachers - we will all remember. There was lots to learn that year, poems, and even jokes. As that was the year the rural schools consolidated, we had a few more join the troop - Judy Gil- bert, Alden Naranjo, Doris Blackmore, Gerald Ludwig, Katherine Stahl, Bonnie Cundiff, and Lucille Cundiff. Leroy Webber and Everett Burch left us. The business of learning, was old stuff after promotion into the fourth grade. Mrs. Kelley sat behind the teacher's desk to start us out in our geography and science lessons. Everyone felt quite important that year. We contributed to the fish pond at the school carnival, and were permitted to attend the home football games. Barbara Norman from Amarillo, Texas, and Barbara Stephens from Denver en- tered. Barbara Stephens also left that year. Our fifth grade wasn’t much different from our fourth grade. We had the same teacher and dug a little deeper into the subjects. Georga Russell from Ignacio and Tony Mascarenas were our only new entries in the class that year. Nina Powell left.
