REFLECTIONS OF THE TIMES These are the times of the new and the old. Man has created new problems such as pollution, and he hasn't even learned to cope with the ones he already has such as flood. This valley has been referred to as the Nile Valley, and as this picture indicates the North Platte River is beginning to look the true Nile in its seasonal flood stage. Dikes have been built up and down the valley, but fortunately, Bayard has been unaffected except for some basements flooding due to the rising water table. The real damage has been the destruction of the natural habitat of wild game that lived in thesf flooded areas. If this is today's progress, what will tomorrow have in store. These are truly times of change as shown by Pat Sinner, Debbie Hobert, and Annie Razo who are modeling the in styles of die maxi, midi, and mini, respectively. According to rumor the boys favor the mini while die girls favor another style trend, slacks. It's certainly a topsy-turvy world, but have things really changed that much.
