Competition Brings Out the Best A group of thirty Bayard students, chosen to represent their respective classes competed with approximately 40 other Western Nebraska schools in Chadron on March 20. The group made a commendable showing as Bayard finished third in Class I. First place winners were: John Segura, Spanish I; Don Gabel, Art; Dennis Chapman, Mechanical Drawing. Second place winners were: Kathy Townsend, Advanced Shorthand; Gary Hrnicek, Spanish I; Ken Hobert, Mechanical Drawing; and Linda Giauque, Music. Hopes Become Reality When New Members Are Inducted The Chimney Rock Chapter, No. 755, of the National Honor Society held its annual tapping ceremony on February 19. During this solemn ceremony, each new member was presented with a yellow rose and membership scroll. The decorations were based on the crest of the organization.
