7)e Decficate 7 u's JiooA MR. AND MRS. HARRY OSTERMILLER It is with great pride that we, the Bayard High Senior Class of 1963, present the 1963 TIGER. Appreciation is extended to all who helped guide us through our four perplexed but wonderful high school years. Through this dedication we wish to express our sincere gratitude to our patient and generous class parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ostermiller. Without their assistance our Junior and Senior years would not have been as memorable or as enjoyable. On our Journey Down Memory Lane we will not forget them, and we hope they will not forget us. TO THE CLASS OF 1963: My congratulations to the Class of 1963 for your successful completion of your four years of high school; to Miss Eloise Schwab, Annual Sponsor; to the Annual Staff; and to your Class Sponsors, Mr. Daniel Clark and Mr. Jack Lamle. In this age of space and technology it is very important that we discipline ourselves to be reverent, obedient, ambitious, truthful, punctual, resourceful, and enthusiastic in all of our activities. As your Superintendent and friend I would like for you to attain worthwhile goals, to continue your education, to have wholesome friends, and to establish good homes. I am sure that if you will take care of the above goals, our country will be a safe place to raise and educate our families. Your friend, S. V. Chase, Superintendent A he Administration dpeahs TO THE CLASS OF 1963: “Man is not made a man by his biological birth. If he is to be a man, human culture must give direction and form to his potentialities.” Comenius Through many years of public schooling, each of you has been exposed to many facets of human culture. These are designed to help develop your mental, spiritual, emotional, and physical faculties. It is my hope that you will take your proper place in society; as a worthy, contributing, responsible citizen. Your friend, Mr. J. L. The junior class had a rather busy but successful year. The juniors had concessions twice, once during football and once during basketball season. At the football concession they made 150 carameled apples which were all sold before the half of the game. Also, following the football concession, the juniors sponsored a dance. Another project of the juniors was the selling of 450 boxes of candy. Phil Morehead, who sold 75 boxes, was the top salesman. The biggest highlight of the year, of course, was the prom. Work on the prom was started in February when the theme, “Spring Paradise,” was chosen and all the various committees were appointed. The actual decorating for the prom was done the week of the prom. All committees and class members worked diligently which resulted in a beautiful and successful prom of which they can be proud.
