During the year the “B” Club adds to the school spirit by taking part in concessions, making the queen’s float for the Tiger Festival, and sponsoring dances. This year the club changed its constitution to eliminate minor letters so the boys would work toward their major. At the end of the school year the boys who have participated in sports and have maintained a high scholastic average are admitted into the National Athletic Scholarship Society. King John and Queen Jama Reign The basketball season was crowned by the naming of John Gable and Jamalee George as BHS royalty. Diana Knaub, Doralie Marker, Sharon Shultz, Ron Worn-bacher, Ron Wilhelm, and Larry Graf served as attendants at the impressive ceremony held after the Mitchell vs. Bayard basketball game. As the Pep Club formed a heart around the throne, Cheryl Amend and Isidro Flores presented the king and queen with gifts. After the presentation, a dance sponsored by the Student Council was held in honor of the new royalty. 26

National Honor Society Honors Initiates On March 29. the annual National Honor Society induction ceremony was held with Larry Graf, the organization’s president, presiding. After the candles were lighted by Doralie Marker and Mary Ann France, John Dueker read the scripture. Speeches representing the emblem and the four ideals of the society—character, scholarship, leadership, and service—were given by Shirley Dutton, Diana Knaub, Jo Lee Hrnicek, Jay Belden, and Jamalee George. Harriett Henkel, Sandi Chapman, and Anne Reynolds assisted in the tapping ceremony and the senior girls’ trio added to the impressive convocation. 28 FIRST ROW: H. Henkel, Treasurer; S.
