TO THE CLASS OF 1959: Congratulations to the class of '59 for your many successes during the past four years of high school, and particularly to the annual staff and staff sponsor, Bonnie J. Blackburn, for this fine publication. This fine annual, no doubt, will be a treasured reminder of the happy and profitable time spent in the Bayard High School. As a final reminder or parting word, permit me to say the following: Be a continuous learner; be ever willing to serve mankind in a constructive way; learn first to discipline yourself; be able to distinguish moral and spiritual values and also use them; and finally, be industrious and self-reliant. I wish you continued success and happiness in all your future ventures. A job well done is a sound foundation for happiness. My best wishes go with you. IVAN CHRISTIAN, Superintendent To inspire Youth to do their best; To counsel and guide them toward worthwhile goals; To encourage them to continue their education; To trust them and to realize they will carry on where we leave off . . . Is my greatest goal in life. Your friend, SIDNEY V. CHASE 5
