Inherent in STUDENT SELF GOVERNMENT . . . Key developments this year include the strengthening of the Auto Registration program by having the committee handle complaints not only in the school but also by meeting with the neighbors in the community. Added re- sponsibility was given to Building Control be- cause of the installation of an elevator. ln addition to the regular assembly and com- mittee meetings, opportunities were provided members to participate in the city-wide student exchange program and the Red Feather cam- paign, to attend the State Student Council Con- vention at Shorewood and the Minnesota Workshop at St. Olaf's College. Social activities were by no means neglected as is evidenced by Kickoff Kapers - the home- coming dance, at Christmas - Snowfall Sere- nade, Sweetheart Swing - the annual turn- about, and Apple Blossom Time - the iunior- senior semi-formal which concluded the social calendar for the year. These three main bodies are responsible for working out the needs and interests of the entire school. They function largely through numerous committees which are developed when- ever a special interest arises. The traditional standing committees include Central Study Hall, Building Control, Auto Registration, 9-B Instruction, Ring, and Dance. To these, during the pres- ent year, were added the new Pin and Stationery committees. The Pin Committee introduced a plan by which S.G.A. members are privi- leged to retain their pins once having served, and the Stationery Committee inaugurated the use of distinctively styled school stationery to take care of such correspondence as invitations, thank you's, and friendly notes.
