Teachers and students are in constant need of
library materials, and the Library Guild members,
under the direction of Miss Kahle, are always
ready to aid them. The more than seventy guild
members must be "on their toes" to keep up with
the ever-growing book circulation. The average
day this year sees over four hundred books
During the past year the library has received
a new checkout table which has resulted in more
efficient service. Among the various activities of
the guild, a field trip to the Milwaukee-Downer
College library was generally considered to be the

maintain a "B" scholastic average in order to
qualify for membership.

This year the Girls' Club programs included
the annual freshman and senior parties, the
canned food drive, a talent show, a style show,
and two good speakers. Receiving first prize
for its float in the Homecoming Parade was
the biggest thrill of the year, and Nancy Gar-
detto, as Queen of Homecoming, was especial-
This year Girls' Club added some new
practices to its programs. For the first time
sectional meetings were tried during the month
of April. Groups interested in personality,
charm, modelling, needlecraft, business ca-
reers, and the giving of parties met in various
groups. A "Big and Little Sister" movement was
organized, whereby iunior and senior girls help
to welcome the incoming freshman girl to Bay
View. And finally Girls' Club is awarding to
one of its outstanding graduates a one hun-
dred dollar scholarship to be used to further
her education at any accredited college.
