Vice-Principal MR. RAYMOND N. DONDLINGER Every freshman enrolling at Bay View is one of a group assigned to the special care of a counselor. Under his di- rection, with the assistance of the eighth grade teacher, the grade principal, and often with the parents the pro- gram for the freshman is selected long before the first day at school. On that eventful morning of arrival, each student finds himself in a new homeroom group. The teacher who then takes over the general direction of his school life ordi- Page Twenty-Light Counselor Chairman .,.,..., Us , , I -pl MR. HARLEY B. WILEY narily stays with him for the next four years. That teacher, working always with the supervising counselor, studies the members of the group individually and sees that they de- velop acceptable patterns of daily conduct. The teacher, too, directs the student in the making of his four-year academic plan. The homeroom groups come to know each other and their teacher very well, having informal discus- sions after the announcements in the morning and a guid- ance session together every Wednesday afternoon.
