Grade Counselors Mr. Gilla Miss Slat: Mr. Wiley' Mr. Sutrle charge at Bay View feel that for most students the formal educational process should continue as long as the government will allow boys and girls to go to school and actual need is not forcing them into industry. It is the aim of the entire counselor staff to make each student who is approaching the working age aware that the temporary allure- ments of high pay should be carefully weighed before the ties of school life are severed. And because many Bay View boys and girls are animated by more than just a desire to get on in the world, because many do feel the unrest of these times which seems to say to young people, Why bother today when your future will be so short?', and because even more feel the surge of a great desire to serve and not count the cost, the entire guidance department, from counselor to homeroom teacher, while not attempting to deny the realities of life in a country Whose youth will bear the heaviest burdens of the war and of the peace, is trying to help young people to keep their emotional stability and look the future in the eye.
