j00t6a!, I A CGPEAOGI' The Rebels were very successful in the first part of the football season, Although they lost the opening game with Washinton-Henry, they made up for it by defeating Waverly, King William, and Tappahannock. The team was not as victorious at the close of the sea- son because of the injuries received by most of the team, but, led by Monroe Heath and Judson Tyler, the team put up a strong battle. Under the excellent coaching of Mr. Williams the team won three games and lost four. This was Mr. William's first year of coaching the team alone. Five of the boys on the first team played their last year of football for Battlefield Park. They are: Russell Williams, who was unable to play during the last part fx the season, Leslie Chenault, Tommy Gentry, leroy illiams, and Judson Tyler. Russell was the high scorer this year with 126 points, Monroe Heath, who promises to be a very good fullback next year, scored 36 points. The following scored consecutively: Judson Tyler, 24 points: Leslie Chenault 24 points: Tommy Gentry, 18 pointsg Gerald Marshall, I2: Leroy Williams, 6 points: Donald Norris, 6 pointsg and David Beahr, 4 points. We all appreciate the hard work the team has done this year.
