R O P classes prepare students for a special field of work with entry level skills and perhaps further educa- tion. Credits are earned while participating. Popular classes are student aide, where Bassett students work with elementary students, greenhouse and flower arranging led by Bob Dominguez and fire protection led by Bob Davis. Chip Lusby leads a class in radio. Auto body is another popular class. One is always welcome to come to the Career Center and talk with Mrs. Sharp for more information. X w o o CD U CD • I— I w o Sam Russo as coordinator, Career Vocational Education, heads one of the most dynamic offices on campus. Whether you are looking for a career or do-it-yourself training. Career Education can offer a wide range of choices. The program provides opportunity for creativity and problem solving while involving students in worth- while career planning. Basic manipulative skills, safety practices, judgment, technical knowledge and related occupational information are stressed. Donna Thompson is the Work Experience Specialist at Bassett. She helps students in finding a job. They can earn credit for related instruction as well as on the job training. Mrs. Thompson says she loves her work, finds the stu- dents eager to work and that they are excellent workers. She provides guidance in practical experience for the real world . Francis Dauk greets students at the front desk, giving patient help throughout the day. Monica Serna is the career center aide.
