A small group numbering around 43, the Olympians competed against bands with 80-100 members. With odds of major proportions the Bassett band placed consistently in all competitions. Alfonso Alcala has been drum major for two years, winning many awards. Debbie Arballo, majorette, performed with style to give the group prestige. Director Roberts said, We did very well this year considering thAt almost half the band were freshmen. We should have a good year next year as the band continues to mature and improve., A few key seniors are graduating, including our fine drum major, A. Alcala. However, the rest of the band should be able to pick up the slack and give . us an award winning marching and concert season next year. s m 170 Clubs Stage Band. Front Row; J. Romano, F. Atencio. p r; Forum Forum 1 Forum Forum Forum t!Torum li Forum orum Kandy Mink and Eileen Kamidoi, co-editors, head the Forum Staff of fifteen members. The group has had its share of trials and tribulations as well as a year packed with fun. The students were constantly on the go, reporting, interviewing, graphing, typing, pasting-up and eating pizza. The staff worked and played like a big happy family, celebrating everyone ' s birthday, having a Christmas dinner, snow skiing in the winter and dress- 3 Y ' S P during Spirit Week and Cinco de Mayo. The -VjClass put in many hours of hard work. This time-con- ;( suming class takes a lot of devotion to the paper and students often stayed as late as eleven o ' clock at night etting the paper ready to be printed. A new press was delivered to the school this year adding to the excite- ment along with photography equipment and the set up of a dark room. On the minus side we ran out of paper. k Chris Mueller can be proud of her hard work, the fine quality of the Forum and indeed an excellent staff. A special thanks to Mr. Jess Gonzales for his interest and support and to the students who worked the press. § i sg Staff Eileen Kamidoi — Co-Editor .
