Girls ' Track The girls ' track team faced many obstacles this year. They lost three top sprinters Michelle Thomas, Linda Nonwood, and Cathy Woods, which left a huge gap to fill for new runners. The pre-season track meets were cancelled because of rain, which caused the new runners to have lesS| experience in race-running when the sea-| son meets were scheduled. Coach Watt stated at the beginning of the season, she has a fine group of young ladies returning from last year, and a newj group of runners who gained muchj needed experience for next year. Watt has an enormous amount of confidence in these young lady athletes and stated that with a fine team effort, skill, and ability, the girls ' track team will always come outj on top. All teams won their first league match against Workman H,S. The coach pre- dicted at the beginning of the season that the team should be one of the best in league. Some of the top players include Eileen Kamidoi No. 1 Singles and Connie Gonzales No. 2 Sin- gles. Doubles teams include Vivian Villegas and Aurora Salcido No. 1 team. No. 2 team is Elaine Delmarral and Pauline Ramirez. Boys are doing very well in competition also, winning their first game against Workman H.S. No. 1 Singles is Donald Miley. No. 2 Singles John Collins. Co-Ed teams include John Collins and Eileen Kamidoi, Donald Miley and Connie Gonzalez, Eddie Hernandez, and Martha Solis.
