20 powder puff Photo by Bernhard and Wzllmnzs On a cold starbright night in the middle of Oc- tober, a crowd gathered at the Basic High School football jgeld. The lights stood shining over the freshly cut lawn. A wave of cheers overwhelmed the stands as the crowd cheered on the oncoming football team. As the warm-up exercises were performed the spirited cheerleaders aroused the already en- thusiastic crowd. Nails were broken and perms were flattened as the girls dove and struggled for the brilliantly thrown Fotballs from senior quarterback, Cindy Wicheal, and junior quarter- back, Stacey Perry. Although it was freezing, the l boys still stood cheering in their freshly pressed skirts and matching sweaters. joe Savage, Shawn Roberson and Abran Salazar were a few ofthe many talented junior cheerleaders that supported their team throughout the game. As the game went by and the mighty seniors struggled, the class of 85 was victorious. By the way, this was no ordinary yiotball game, the roles were reversed to make up the 1984 Powder Puff Football Game. Rumor has it that the victorious junior quarterback, Stacey Perry was asked to lead the real wohf-pack team the next school year.
