SOCIALS On October 31, 1945 members of the Freshman Class had their first social as high school students. The witches were on prowl that night as the guest s enter¬ ed the School Auditorium, From the numerous constumeg the judges decide! that Nina Smith and Doris Watling- ton were the cutest They were dressed as twin nea sant maids. The usual Halloween theme was carried out. Under the green and yellow streamers of the May Pole centering the recreation room of the Club House the couples of ,S, enjoyed dancing and games. The Home Economics girls sponsored the big event on May 11, 1946 under the direction of Miss Jessie Mary Wilson! A minature May Pole centered the punch table from which delicious refreshments were served. On October 25, 1945 the Juniors entertained the Seniors, and a number of invited guests at the Club House. Dancing in the candle light was enjoyed by all. Later fuzz nunch and cookies were served from the refreshment table which was decorated with candles and evergreens. On March 21, 1947 our grade mother, Mrs, H. M, Poteat, entertained us at a weiner roast and dance. After everyone had enjoyed roasting and eating weiners outside the Club House, they migrated to the recreation room where dancing was enjoyed by all Punch and cookies wore served during the dance, On April 11, 1947 the Danville Country Club was bubbling over with life as the Junior-Senior Banquet began. The girls were thrilled over the colorful ar¬ ray of flowers nr; i voning dresses. The guests wore ushered into the dining room whoro the theme of The Garden of Tomorrow was carried out. Music was fur¬ nished during Jhe dinner by Jean Stephens at the piano, The Seniors and invited guests completed their cele¬ bration of Christmas at a dance at tho Club House on December 27, 7, The recreation room was decorated- with green and rod streamers draped from tho rafters. The punch table was de corated with candles and pine brightened by arrangements of colored Christmas tree balls. Fuzz punch, cake, nuts and mints were served thoiightout tho dance. Tho annual Junior-Senior Banquet marked tho high¬ light in the social events of our last year in high school. It occurred on the seventh of May and was held in the school auditorium. May Day was the theme of the banquet and the school-colors were used in the decoration.
