STONE Advisor 'E' K BEACON Barrington High School's own newspaper, THE BEA- CON, which has been spotlighting school events since 1941, has this year taken on a new look, appearing once again in trim, printed form. Headed this year by Faith Leonard, editor-in-chief, THE BEACON has en deavored to keep its readers well informed on the various aspects of student activities and interests. lt con- tributes immensely to the enrichment of school life, through the medium of timely articles on sports, politics, and social events. STUDENT COUNCIL When the smoke of intense campaigning and elec- tioneering had cleared, and Nick Calitri emerged as School President, the Student Council swung into action. The Council again sponsored mid-morning milk and doughnut breaks. Its major accomplishment, however, was the purchase of a high-fidelity sound system for use at dances and for the benefit of lunch time toe- tappers.
