2 CLASS PRUPHECY The three weird fates lurked in the shadows of the bubbling caldron. into which had been poured a bit of wisdom, humor, knowledge, and wit. The liquid seethed and boiled within. From the black depths there arose a faint vision. lt became clearer until a disjointed face could he seen. Then the dim outline of a body was glimpsed. and behind the first apparation other shapes were forming. It was a procession from the future-coming to breathe fantastic facts to our shocked minds. As the first figure became less vague, we recognized it as the President of the Senior Class of '39. llehind thc first figure, a large group could be seen. But how changed they all were! A curtain had been lifted ten years in the future and this is what we saw: Stuart Mahurin, Governor of Kentucky. Claude Cohron, Football Coach at Yale. Margaret Ashby, private secretary of James V. Sellars, who owns a chain of filling stations -across the continent. Nadine lgleheart, graduate nurse. Mary E. Hollowell, public accountant for Hen- derson. Evansville and Owensboro. Ralph Freels, Bettye Hazelwood, Roy Freels, suc- cessful on the screen as a comedy trio. Jeanne Montgomery, language teacher at Vassar. Edward E. Culver, foreign diplomat to Russia. Eloise Brasher, diplomat Culver's secretary. Dorothy Smith, clothes-designer in Paris. Josephine Royster, private designer for the first lady of Hollywood, Rowena Cheatham. Mac Blair, famous criminal lawyer in New York. Joe Martin, radical leader of Kieferism in America. Seton Norris, Secretary of Treasury to the Presi- dent. Jack Baskett, professor of literature at the Uni- versity of Kentucky. Ruth Hosman, model at Saks' in New York. Mary Ruth Elmore, owner of a beauty salon in Louisville, aided by her two able assistants, Sarah Priest and Geneva Waide. Freda Whitledge, famous Opera Star with Mar- vin Walker as her leading baritone. Emily Stephon, greatest tap dancer on Broadway. Daphne Chandler, torch singer with James Col- lins' orchestra. Charles Black, owner of New York's hottest night spot. with Dorothy Jake as the featured tap- ping ballerina. Anne Berry and James Craig, widely known for sister and brother Hill-Billy act.
