OCTOBER 6-Chapel with Mr. Wisehaupt as speaker. T-Downed Marion l0-0. 10-National Fire-prevention Day. I2-Professor Houchens delivered an address in chapel. I4-Madisonville wins. 19-Rev. l. M. Blackburn spoke today. 21--Henderson 13--Sturgis 6 26-llealth program, with Dr. E. W. Sigler speak- ing. 28-Dawson Springs draws a loss, 34-0. 31-Mayor Robert Posey spoke today in Chapel. NOW'EMBER 2-Rev. Robert Bockstruck spoke in Chapel. 4--The school enjoyed the movie The Hoosier Schoolmasterf' Despite mud, we beat Central City 13-6. 1-American Education Week begins. 8-First speaker of the week was Mr. William Kuebler, secretary of the local Y. M. C. A. 9-The second speaker was Mr. N. O. Kimbler, Superintendent of the county schools. I0-President F. M. Smith of Evansville College delivered the address for today. ll-Our Armistice day program included an excel- lent talk by Mr. Oscar Jennings. We overcame Morganfield, 7-6. Tea dance sponsored by Pep Club - Gym. 14-- 164 23- National Book Week. The school enjoyed an excellent book review by Mrs. ll. H. Farmer. A pep chapel was In-ld today with short talks by Mr. W. C. Schoepflin. Mr. Sam Lambert, Mr. llenry Taylor, and Mr. Andrew Sights. 24-A glorious ending for an excellent football season. Our boys played brilliant football and defeated our ancient rivals, Owensboro, 14-0. 25i'l'hunksgiving Dance- Gym. DECEMBER n-Mr. Hund was in charge of the program today. T-A Safety Program was the outstanding event 9 of the day. -The football bo s were guests of the Pe Y P Club nt a Banquet and Dance. 19-The Music Department, under the direction of 20 23 Mrs. Worsham, held their annual Cantata at the Episcopal Church. -Basketball season opens with a win over Earlington. mHome-coming Dance-Gym. JANUARY 2-Back after the holidays, ready for work. 3-Downed Sturgis. 6-Lost to Clay in our second home game. 10 I3 17 18 -Journeyed to Central City, but lost by one point. -Another loss, this time to Madisonville. -Much midnight oil was burned in preparation for tomorrow's exams. -Exams-nothing more need be said. 20-End of semester, much joy, a little grief.
