Beel, Safety Commissioner Our Student Council put on one of the best Christmas dances in the history of Barnum. They had a clothing drive for Appalachia and sponsored the annual Seventh Grade Party. Council President, Emily Cosner, and the homeroom repre- sentatives showed an unending in- terest in Barnum and Birmingham and functioned well as the voice of the students.

Dieckmann, Secretary L Stem Treasurer M Tobin Vice President Not pictured: Jay Juhrend, President The National Junior Honor Society, under the sponsorship of Mrs. Griff fth, was very active this year. The group served as ushers for the Open House, presented an evening program for all Birmingham NIHS members and parents, maintained a display of interesting paintings in the main hall, took a variety of field trips and sponsored a spring dance. The high point of the year was the induction of new eighth and ninth grade members. An assembly was held to honor the new members and new members and their parents were entertained at a tea following the induction program
