Lieutenant Commander McHenry, a native of Granville, New York, was commissioned into the United States Navy out of the Officers' Candidate School program in 1964. His tours of duty include serving on the USS CAMP tDER 251l, the USS SAMUEL B. ROBERTS QDD 8233 and at the Fleet Training Center in Norfolk. He has studied at Destroyer School, at George Washington University where he received an M.B.A. degree in Financial Management, and at the Armed Forces Staff College and has been an instructor at the United States Naval Academy. He was Executive Officer of the ocean minesweeper, USS CONFLICT QMSL 42613 received an M.S. degree in Operations Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, Californiag and served as Advisor to the Vietnamese Joint General Staff, Headquarters MACV. He, his wife, Joanne, and their children, Jennifer and Joey, were happy to learn that his next duty station will be at the Armed Forces Staff College and they will get to stay in the Norfolk area.
