QTUOI C188 Q UID lilly One evenlng after a very busy day I sat down to watch one of my favorlte QUIZ programs the S64 000 OOO Questlon when suddenly a very famlllar face appeared on the screen I couldn t place her unt1l the announcer sald that she was M1ss Martha Dromey, an old schoolmate of mme As she entered the booth I was on the edge of my seat When Martha flnally answered the S64 O00 O00 Questlon I was a nervous wreck Iust then the telephone rang It was another schoolmate Lt Lols Corwm She had been in the an' force slnce her graduatlon She told me the class of 1956 57 was havlng a reumon 1n the old Barlng Hlgh School Audltorlum She offered to fly me up 1n her prlvate Jet plane As we taxled onto the runway of the Barmg Alr Port we were greeted by a very good looklng young man We was another of my schoolmates , Professor Ralph Small who was the head of the Engllsh Department at the Mlssourl Un1vers1ty rn Columbla He has become one of the most outstandlng cr1t1cs 1n the fleld of llterature As we arrlved at the Baring aud1tor1um we were greeted f1rst by Mr and Mrs Emmett Schultz Emmett and the former Glada Sm1th were marrled soon after graduatlon Then I saw an old frlend and schoolmate Carolyn Bruegenhemke She told us she was now the owner of several oil wells in Texas She was also a recordlng star Her latest release lS Poncho My Danclng Partner She told us she had taken up a new hobby, refereeing basketball games Just then Iames HOpk1I'1S arrlved He has a black eye and one arm 1n a sllng When I aSked h1m what had happened, he told us he was a hot rod drlver and had been 1n a bad crackup the day before He had marrled a Barlng g1rl and they recently had twlns They named them Mary and Ierry Then I was approached by a very dlstlngulshed look1ng man He was Professor John O Thomas the world famous lecturer and phllosopher I-Ie had Just flnlshed hls latest book How to Th1nk While You Sleep As the banquet began I was seated beslde the world heavy welght boxlng champlon Iose-ph Klller McManus Slnce he had become boxlng champ he spent most of hls t1me 1n Egypt where he owned a castle and a large harem Just then Kenny Helmer chief chef of the Stork Club in New York began servlng hls speclal dlsh rattlesnake meat with grasshopper gravy He sald he was marrled to a Barlng g1rl who 1S now a professlonal model They fell ln love durlng the tlme they stayed 1n the same boardlng house together When the day ended, LO1S and I started homeward with many regrets but Wlth many norles of a very emoyable day A G!
