Senior Class History In 1952 seventeen green freshmen enrolled at Barlng Hlgh School Thls group conslsted of Tom Lawson Red Bellmyer Albert Dye Francls Burrus Iohn Hopklns R1chard Myers Susle Early Arlene Queen Dlck Delaney Marllyn I-lunsaker Jack Llttle Bob Morrrson Earl Swearlngen Kent Goodwln Phllllp Harbur Marsh Soloman and B111 Soloman We were sorry to lose Iack Llttle the flrst half of our freshman year The mam event was the In1t1at1on Party glven by the sophomores Our sponsor was Mr Klmble We entered the next year as s1lly sophomores wlth eleven members Marsh and B111 Soloman moved to Iowa Earl Swearlngen started to school at Gorln and Bob Morrlson and Kent Goodwln dropped school durlng thls year Before the school year ended Ph1ll1p Harbur transfered to the Memphls Hlgh School Thls year lt was our turn to 1n1t1ate the freshmen Our sponsor was Mrs Edna Perry The thlrd year we were Jolly Junlors We came back wlth a strong eleven We were glad to welcome Ilm Lowe from Rutledge but he was here only short tlme before he too dropped The weddlng bells began to rlng so we lost Marllyn Hunsaker Under the dlrectlon of Mrs Perry our sponsor our Iunlor Play What a Famlly was a great success In May we took our annual Jumor and senror trlp to St Louls and a very tlred group returned to help decorate the aud1tor1um for Baccalaureate servlces Sunday May 8 1955 Then the blg moment we became dlgnlflcd seruors Dlck Delaney left us to enter St Louls Preparatory Semlnary We gave our sen1or class play Touch nd Go on November 23 1955 under the dlrectlon of Mrs Eumce Pearce our sponsor We went to Klrksvllle for Semor Day on Aprll 17 1956 On Pprrl 19 Zu 21 we went to St Louls on our annual Junlor and semor trlp On May 6 we attended Baccalaureate servlces and Thursday evenlng May 10 we attended our Commencement exerclses On May ll our h1gh school days ended wlth memorres of the good old days that we won t forget o ' 0 I I I 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 I 1 1 - , . . . Sensor Class Wlll We the senior class of 1955 56 of Baring High School District No 12 Greensburg Township county of Knox state of Missouri being of sound mind and body do hereby publish and declare this to be our last will and testament in the interest of our he1rs and classmates I Arlene Queen do hereby will Libby Goodwin all of my Helen Specials and all of the good times we have had in certain cars from Rutledge which is getting to be quite a habit to Peg Karhoff my curly hair of which she 1S so envious to Skip McManus all of my passlng grades in history which I do get once in a while to Tom Small I will my nickname Toots in hopes he will give it to a girl next year like he gave it to me I will my ability to skip school and get away with it to Margaret Lowe and last but not least I will my occupation as Boy Scout to Mildred Hudson in hopes that she will use it to her best advantage I Albert Dye do hereby will Earl Ilomey all of the things I borrowed which I forgot to return Dale Hatter my seat on the bus Darlene Rudical my long curly halt Pat Marra my ability to get along with the teachers Tommy Early my ability to goof off in study hall and last but not least Iames Hopkins shall receive my technique of getting in before 3 o clock in the morning I Susie Early will Carolyn Bruegenhemke the fun of making telephone calls for other people benefit Cheryl Early the ability to make angel food cakes on Sunday afternoon with speclal for the first class ln the afternoon Marilyn Myers my love for the boys in Kirksville George Hunolt the ability to never keep still Joyce Mayer the fun of trying to play basketball for the past 4 years and last but not least Ioyce Smith my darling little brother who Ithink she al ready has I Francis Burrus will my height to Iimmy Prrmm my flat top to Delmar Klataske my locker to Lo1s Hopkins my ability to be on time to Jack Smock my basketball suit to Dale Hatter which I hope will have better use for it than me and last but not least my books to Donna Meline I Red Bellmyer do will my typewriter to Barbara Lawson in hopes that she can make it spell better than I do I will my height to Dick Small my basketball suit to Ierry Eyler and hope it fits him better than it did me I will my library periods to Gerald Miles my pencils that I borrowed and didn t return to Pat Marra to Iohnny Thomas my good old American History book which I love so well and last but not least I will all my books to Skip McManus in case he is still looking for them I Richard Myers do hereby will complete possession of my typewriter to Glada Smith with hopes that she can control it to a greater extent than I I leave Iohn Flynn all of the good looking girls of which he will be after when he wakes up to the fact that there are girls I leave Betty Morrison my curly hair and my good times swiping and breaklng pencils I will Donna Phillips my locker and all of the things that I have borrowed and never returned to Wm I-Ioldren I leave my history workbook as so he can copy out of it as I did everyone elses to Lonnre Byrns I leave the ability to aggravate Mrs Pearce and Mr Kimble of which I will leave him a fair warnrng beware of Pearce To Lois Hopkrns I leave jackie Smock which 0 O 1 I - I I I l l ' 1 U I I ' ,I I I I 1 ' - ' n ' ll I I I I - I I ' ' I ' 1 I - - - - - , - - ll ll ' I I - - . - - n I I ll ' ' ' ' I I I I ' I , J ' , ' ' : .
