li L I? X v Captain J.W. McKellar, Company Commander IstSgt J.E. Lechnar enlisted in the ma- rine corps at Pittsburgh, PA on I5 Nov I97I and underwent recruit training at Parris Island, SC. During his career he has served overseas in all 3 marine divisions fand with every regiment in the Ist and 3rd Divisions. An infantryman by MOS, he has also served as a Machinegun In- structor at ITS, NCO School Instructor, Squad Leader School Instructor and Jun- ggle Patrolling Instructor at NTA. IstSgt 1, Lechnar has held every leadership billet in a rifle company from Fireteam leader to Company IstSgt. Additional tours have included Drill Instructor at Parris Island and Recruiting in the I2th District. He has Completed numerous military schools and courses including Airborne, Ranger, Am- .lphibious Reconnaissance, and Special ff,:1lForces Small Arms and Close Combat E .H schools. He assumed his duties as Kilo 3X5 lftSgt on 8 Nov I99O. IstSgt Lechnar re- sides with his wife Julieta and 4 children In San Clemente, CA. The Commander of Troops is Captain J.W. McKellar. A Graduate of Texas ASM, he was commissioned in I982. After com- pleting the Basic School and Infantry Of- ficer Course, he served with 3rd BN, 7th Marines as a Plt Cmdr, Motor Transport Officer and Company Commander. After serving a tour as Operations Officer, Re- cruiting Station Dallas, Texas, Capt McKellar attended Airborne School and the Advanced Infantry Officers Course at Ft Benning, GA.
