S 0244... 'l'his year the sophomore class has been very at-tive in the high school. There were tllirty-two members in our class, with one or more partici- pating in every extra-curricular activity. lit-presenting the sophomore class on the Student Council were Gerard Garland and ,loyce lverson. while Betsy Flynn was our representative on the Assembly Committee. We had six members in tht- hund, and ten participating in ehorus. Our varsity cheering squad was largely composed of sophomore girls. Alison Heal was a majorette. Athletic activities were enjoyed by the major- ity of the class. We had three boys on the hasketball squads, four on the football team. Last, but not least, we had six girls on the softball team. The freshman class, with forty-one members, was the most active class in the high school, for example, the freshmen had the biggest class repre- sentation in the band. Those who went out for football were David Dow, Michael Alley, Charles llall, Christopher White, and Nelson Walls. The freshmen partici- pating in jayvee basketball were Peter Young, Dana Cleaves, Nelson Walls, Lloyd Norwood, and Peter Kingsley. Peter Young, Richard Russell, and Gerald Johnson were football managers, Richard Russell was also varsity basketball assistant manager. Corrine Farrell, Geraldine Hodgkins, and Grace Reddy were on the jayvee cheering squad. Mary Owens, Diane lngalls, Laurie Beckett. Sonja Clat- worthy, and Richard Russell worked on the school play, Mary and Diane taking part in the play. Mary Owens, Jesse Higgins. Allison Fisher, and Diane Dori' played on the girls, basketball team. Sonja Clalworthy was a majorette. Christopher Vvhite. Gerald Johnson. Michael Doyle, Mary Owens. Diane Ingalls, and Joyce Hig- gins did a fine job in debating. Our Student Council representative was Mary Owens. Boyd Vlfasgatt was on the Assembly Com- mittee. This year has been a very successful one for us. ln sports. we had many members in both varsity and jayvee basketball. girls' basketball. baseball, softball. and football. We were well represented in cheering and majorettes also. Many with musical talents were in band and chorus. We also had representatives in the school play and in debating. Three members were in the Student Council, Mary Lou Conners being eleeted secretary of the State Student Council Association.
