BRSCL311 Though under the same coach, Allen Savage, as the previous year when we won the P.V.C. title, the B.H.H.S. baseball team had a poor season. Twenty-eight men reported for the first baseball session, and after the season progressed the number was reduced to about sixteen men. The team con- sisted mostly of veterans from last year. These were: Nate King, first baseg Don Dyer, shortstop, Ray- mond McGarr, third baseg Paul Jordan, catcherg LeRoy Dyer, pitcher, and Ken Riddell, outfield. Lawrence Burch shared the pitching burden with Dyer, while Strout relieved King at first base after the latter broke his ankle. The pitching appeared adequate enough, but the Seasiders' bats seemed to be still. Despite the saying of Coach Savage, Its a long road, and it has to turn somewheref' the Seasiders lost ten straight ball games. The boys are looking forward to this year, however, to redeem themselves. The spirit with which these boys played ball plus their abilities and knowledge of the game gives us a feeling of security in knowing we have good material for next year's varsity. The I. V. Squad was composed of the following boys: Morris Strout, Sonny Mitchell, Carroll Lurvey, Lawrence Burch, George Riddell, John Lymburner, Dick Salisbury, Warren Stillwell, David Young, Raymond Gray and Fred Ames. 1 I Games played and results: Opponent Mount Desert Orono Brewer Pemetic Bucksport Pemetic Old Town Ellsworth John Bapst Mount Desert Orono Bucksport Old Town Ellsworth Brewer John Bapst Upponent Mt.
