Fundamentals Taught Through Actual Partici pa ti on g Clues Student to Pa tien t's Sensitivity In addition to Liberal Arts courses, the level I student is introduced to basics of patient care, including physical, social, and emotional needs. Student participation is required to enlighten the student to the patient's viewpoint Basic technical proficiency is fostered by supervised practice in the nursing arts lab and the clinical environment. With successful completion of Level I, the student has the fundamental knowledge and skill to advance to Level II. ' 1

Level II: Length y, -sg., Dive1'siHed, il t 1- K ' but Specialized The sophomore rotation, the first portion of Level II, provides areas of study in Medical-Surgical nursing, religion, and pharmacology. It is during this course of study that the student leams the varied manifestations of disease entities. By utilizing the nursing process and applying learned scientific principles the BSSN student participates in the physical, spiritual, and emotional aspects of the diagnosis and treatment of short and long-term illnesses. In addition, the students, to diversify their education, rotate through a physician's office, the operating room, and various health related departments within the hospital. H2
