enior Class History In the fall of 1955 nine students reported as freshmen at Harrisburg High School. We elected Mr, Gill as our sponsor, It also was his first year at Harrisburg. The next fall we lost Christina Olsen and Ricky Schaffer, but we gain- ed Bernie Wynne, who came from Pine Bluffs, and Owen Anderson, who came from South Dakota. Velma Heard came to Harrisburg at the beginning of the second semester. She had previously gone to school at Scottsbluff. We again elected Mr. Gill as our sponsor. As juniors in the fall of 57 we lost two more students, They were Ward McGowan and Ann Spier. Judy Rathman left us during the second semester. As before we gained two students. They were Glynette Anderson and Christina Olsen both from Albin. Our prom, nShangrilan, was held in the cafeteria at school. The band mothers prepared and served the meal. Our play, nHere Comes Charlien, was the first play to be held in the new gym. Again Mr. Gill was our sponsor. Then we started our last year. Bill Britthouer joined our happy group during the year. Mr. Anderson and Mr. Trimmer were elected as our sponsors. Our senior play, nThe Batn, was presented on April Zh. All members of the senior class participated in the play. The following Saturday we went on our sneak day to Denver Colorado. The juniors presented us with a prom May 2, 1959 at the Scottsbluff Country Club. Baccalaureate was held at the Harrisburg Auditorium on Sunday night May 10. Then the happy day arrived, May 13, the day we graduated. Baccalaureate 10 1959. Baccalaureate was held in the Harrisburgk Audilgggiugunggplfaywho'Sang a Reverend Fillmore C. Cobb was the main spea er. t song, and the girls chorus furnished the entertainmen . Commencement Commencement exercises were held at Harrisburg May 13, 1959. Dr. Andrews, head of the science department at Chadron State Teacher's College, was the guest speaker. His topic was nLife Among The Satellites.n Wayne Warner, president of the school board, presented the diplomas to the ten seniors,
