PHS BANQUET The annual PHS Banquet was held on April 2, in the school cafeteria. An nApril Showersn theme was carried out in the decorations and table appointments. Velma Heard was toastmistress and Miss Robinson gave the invocation. A fried chicken dinner was served by the PHS mothers. It was served family style. After dinner Cheryl Faden played a piano solo and Judy Harris sang nMy Happinessn with Julie Thienhardt accompanying. Nine freshmen girls and four honorary members were initiated into the club. The girls were given their blue sweaters. fx 1,.il 'gg 5V if il .suv - ONE-ACT PLAYS Four one-act plays were presented by the freshmen and sohpomores on March 20 at the Harrisburg gym. nOn Vengeance Height' was a drama set in the hills of Tennessee. The plot involved a mountain fued of many years. The next play, nHis Mama's Boy,' was a comedy. It was about a studious boy who secretly wrote wierd tales while his mother was waging a campaign against them. nThe Valiantn was a drama which took place in the warden's office of a prison. A prisoner who wouldn't reveal his identity was viseted by a girl who thought he could be her brother. The last play presented, Hkink and Patches,H was a hillbilly drama taking place in the yard of a mountain family's home. It illustrated the desires of a young girl for a beautiful dress which she has never had. One of the plays scheduled could not be presented because of the ill- ness of one of the cast. ,QL 5 . p. p Av FACULTY FROLIC The Harrisburg school faculty presented an evening of humorous enter- tainment on October 17, 1958 at the school gymnasium.
