class history In August of 1970 sixty scared and green freshmen stumbled up the steps of Bangor High School. With Mrs. Schaller and Mr. Lee as advisors, we held our first class meeting and elected officers. Steve Althoff WQS CTIOSGH PI'6Sid6n12, John Dwyer, vice-president, Lea Hesselberg, secretary, and Bruce Clements, treasurer. Our student Council repre- sentatives were Patty Gerke, Julie Bull, Dan Wuensch, and Steve Roberts. Valerie Mashak and Greg Bjorkman rep- resented our class on Basketball Homecoming court. The next fall we returned as sophomores, anxious to initiate the freshmen and to start to drive. We elected Steve Roberts as President Tom Cavidini, vice-president, Kim Evans, secretary and Bruce Clements, Treasurer. Patty Gerke, Valerie Mashak, Dan Wuensch and Steve Althoff were our Student Council representatives. Don Herman and Kim Evans were chosen to represent us on Basketball Homecoming court. Our class advisors Mrs. Dobbs and Mr. Ranous helped in making many important decisions. In the fall of 1972 we returned for an event filled junior year. Patty Gerke was chosen President, Barb Klos, Vice- President, Ann Schaller, Secretary, and Bruce Clements again handled our financial affairs. The two most exciting events of our junior year were receiving our class rings and the Spring Dance. Our class ad- visors, Miss McDonald and Mr. Korb, helped in planning around the theme of Pieces of April . Sandi Schaller and Tom O'Heron reigned as queen and king with Arbutus Monarch and Roger Berg, Jeri Solberg and Steve Roberts, and Valerie Mashak and Dean Hussa making up the court. Crownbearers were Sara Hoffman and Terry Beron. We returned the next fall for our last year as Mighty Seniors . Class officers for our most important year were Tom O'Heron, President, Doug Hussa, vice-president, Judi Gerke, Secretary and Bruce Clements, treasurer. Represent- ing us on Student Council were Barb Klos, Steve Roberts, Robin Gjertsen and Lea Hesselberg, President. Patty Gerke was recording secretary-treasurer. Our class advisors were Mrs. Hanson and Mr. Toloken. Jean Muenzenber- ger and Bill Watson reigned as queen and king of Football Homecoming with their court made up of Lea Hesselberg and Doug Hussa, Patty Gerke and Robin Gjertsen, and Ruth Olsen and Steve Roberts. Renee Hammes and Steve Althoff were Basketball Homecoming king and queen with Judi Gerke and Randy Mikshowsky senior representatives. Barb Klos was chosen DAR winner while Sue Schimdt received the Betty Crocker Homemaker award. Each member of our class anxiously awaits the many events yet to come, especially graduation on June 2nd, We look forward to the years ahead, but will always cherish the joys and tears of our four successful years at BHS. 4
