FRONT ROW: Dick Ronnenkamp, Dennis Miller, Lyle Soenksen, Roger Mohl, Gene Zobel, Paul Manning, Dennis Engelbart, Duane Miller. Bancroft's season record reached a mark of 5 wins and 14 losses after a slow start. The high point of the season was the District championship campaign, which showed the highest team score, 80 points against Beemer; the longest winning streak, 3 games, and the first place trophy. The Bulldogs pulled in 406 rebounds, 21.4 a game, and scored 895 points, 47 a game. Dick Ronnenkamp headed the individual scoring with 37 70 from the field, 66 7o from the free throw line for a total of 255 points and an average of 11.8 points a game. Dennis Engelbart lead the rebounding by sweeping the boards for a total of 195 rebounds or 10 grabs per game. The nine lettermen for the season were Dick Ronnenkamp, Dennis Engelbart, Gene Zobel, Robert Cook, Stanley Manning, Roger Mohl, Ed Raasch, Lyle Soenksen, and Dennis Miller. FRONT ROW: Std. Mgr. Larry Engelbart, Dick Ronnenkamp, Roger Mohl, Dennis Engelbart, Lyle Soenksen, Dennis Carlson, Lauren Daberkow, Allen Cook, David Newell. This year's showing on the gridiron produced 15 lettermen from 17 eligible players. Best suiting our team material, the Straight T Formation was initiated. While competing in one of the states toughest conferences, in 7 games the Bulldogs picked up 2205 yards on 255 carries and averaged 816 yards per carry. Despite the yardage gained the team had trouble crossing the goal line. This was a factor in the 2 wins, 4 losses, and 1 tie season. Dick Ronnenkamp and Lyle Soenksen were voted co-captains for the season. The coaches of the Logan Valley Conference selected Dennis Carlson as First-Team-All-Conference and Dick Ronnenkamp as Second-Team-All-Conference players.
