SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY It is a very nice day today out here at Yucca Flats. I just had a little time off so I just decided to go sit out in the sun. The testing grounds are very quiet today. “Wait!” What was all that racket, kinda looks like a jet circling around. Boy he had better watch out, we are going to start testing bombs any day now. Whoops, here he comes. He’s finally landed. I thought I recognized the pilot and sure enough it was Burton Bargmann coming from Alaska. Burton said that he would give me a ride around the world to see what was going on. I decided to go since I had nothing else to do for a few days. We started West to California. I told the pilot to go over the ocean, we landed at a near airport and went down by the ocean. Who should we run into but my classmate Charles Gleeson. We asked Charlie what he was doing; he said he was a deep sea diver. He invited us to meet the rest of the fellows. These fellows, as he called them, turned out to be bathing beauties. He says his business is very interesting. Well, here we are over the ocean, and landing in London, England. Man, you should see this house. No, I think it is a palace; no, I was right it is a house, but Mrs. Pallas lives in it. Yes, Loretta Neel is now Mrs. Jerry Pallas. As we continued on our journey we decided to fly as far as Arabia and there we would watch the very exciting Harem dancers. Yes, these dancers are very exciting, especially one of them. The only thing different was that she wore glasses and had pigeon toes. Oh, now I know who it is, yes it was Joyce Konopik, We asked her how she ever got a job like that, and she told us that she had become close friends with Jayne Mansfield, and she had gotten her the job. Joyce said that the job was all right but she couldn’t keep track of all her boy friends. As long as we were in Arabia we decided to visit the king of Saudi Arabia. When we arrived we were greeted by 80 beautiful women, who finally led us to the king. Believe it or not the king turned out to be Kenny Lutjen. He was always kind of a romeo in school and I guess he just never got over it. Oh, by the way these 80 women turned out to be Kenny’s wives, and he says it’s about time to start looking for a new one. Three of my six days are up, and here I am in Siam. You should see all the Siamese cats running up and down the streets. Wait, there is a woman watching over the cats as if she owned them. I decided that I wanted to buy one so I ran over to the lady, and who should it be but Donna Kling. She says she has been raising and selling cats ever since graduation. It’s time to leave Siam now and we’re off for South America. I had never seen a jungle, so I decided to spend some time exploring one. We battled our way through the jungle until we came upon a native village. We asked to see the chief and who do you suppose it was but Norton Eby. We asked him what he was doing in such a place and he said he wanted to try something different. Believe it or not he has learned to talk the native language. Finally we are back in the states, Nebraska to be exact. I told the pilot that we may as well stop off and see what the old town looked like. When we arrived in Bancroft, we took a taxi and the driver offered to show us around. After a short time we went out into the country and as I looked over the country side I saw a man and a woman chasing cows. The woman looked kinda familiar, and after I thought a short while I realized it was Roberta Daberkow. She is married and they have started a dairy called Kai’s modern dairy. We are on our way back to the base now, but decided to stop off in Cheyenne, Wyoming and see the Frontier Days going on there. After not seeing a rodeo for some time we decided to attend one that afternoon. Finally after long fanfares they introduced the cowboy as Curley Paulson. I though that I recognized that name and sure enough it was Dennis Paulson one of my old class mates. Journeying back to Yucca Flats we turned down to Old Mexico to watch the Bull Fights. Who do you suppose we saw, yes indeed, our old classmate Yvonne Crowell. She was in the arena and had just killed her 98th bull. Snowball is now the most famous Bull Fighter of Mexico.
