1 he Ninth Color Bay to be observed at the Bancroft High School took place on January 8. oting for the King and Queen and their attendants was done before Christmas vacation and the people who were to be in the procession on Color Day were notified by Pep Club Sponsor, Mrs. I. Wells. The whole high school voted for the King and Queen and each class voted for the people they wanted to represent them as attendants. Kanguroo Court was held at 12:15 on Friday afternoon and those who did not wear orange and black were punished. 1 he “ll Club served as a board of judges to place sentences on the guilty people. Prizes for costumes were won by Bonita Krueger, Johnnie liermelbracht, and Claudette Kby. 4 he crowning of the King and Queen was held between the first and second team games. A welcome speech was given by Mr. Fredrickson, then he presented the Pep Club President, Mary Fletcher, who gave a speech on Color Bay. After this, the procession was started. 1 he first ones to enter were the Crown Bearers, Cheril Catczemcyer and Kenny Fchtcnkump. They were followed by Freshmen attendants. Sherry Zobel and Bonnie Ceimcr; Sophomores Margaret Gcis-lcr and lorn Frc lrickson; Juniors, Carolyn Neel, and Billy Gutzcmcycr; Seniors, Diane Vogt and hugcnc Nottlemunn, and Myra liermelbracht, and Harlan Bussman. The King, CHARLES E. BOUGHN, Attorney Kugene Nottlemunn, and the Queen, Myra liermelbracht, were crowned by the Pep Club President. The Queen was then presented with a lovely arm bouquet of red and while carnations. Senior attendant with a carnation corsage and each attendant with a gift from the Pep Club. After the crowning and the presentation of the gifts, the King und Queen and the Queen’s attendants were seated on the throne, where they sat the rest of the game. A dance was held after the game in the school gym. Music was furnished by the West Point Acorns, a school juzzbund. After an hour of dancing, lunch was served by the Pep Club and the big evening ended.
