Munderloh, Heep eh keeping wt SOPHOMORE CLASS HISTORY In the fall of ’53, twenty-one students returned to Bancroft High as Sophomores. Class officers were elected as follows: President, Glen Zobel, Vice President, David Gatzemeyer, Secretary and Treasurer, Margaret Geisler, Class Reporter,Tom Frederickson, Student Council, George Crone. Tom Frederickson, Larry Bargmann, Merlyn Jacobson, Glen Zobel, George Grone took part in the sport of football. When basketball season rolled around David Gatzemeyer, Merlyn Jacobson, Tom Frederickson, and Glen Zobel took up the sport. All the girls belong to Girls Athletics with the exception of one. All the girls belong to Girls Glee. Members of the band are Glen Zobel, Larry Bargmann, Lois Munderloh, and Carolyn Bettenhausen. Those from our class who took up declamatory work were Judy Bray, Nina Bargmann, Kathryn Mielke, and Carolyn Bettenhausen. Cjreeh but grcuihg FRESHMEN CLASS HISTORY The freshman class of ’53-’54 started session with 24 students, 10 boys and 14 girls. Class officers were: President, Rodney Gatzemeyer, Vice President, Tommy Canarsky, Secretary-Treasurer, Sherry Zobel, and News Reporter, Judy Buchholz. Those going out for football were: Mylon Beutler, Billy Presser, Tommy Canarsky, Larry Peterson, Pat Gatzemeyer, and Ronnie Leimer. Rodney Gatzemeyer was Student Manager. Mylon Beutler, Bi lly Presser, Larry Peterson, Pat Gatzemeyer, Rodney Gatzemeyer, and Ronnie Leimer went out for basketball. The student manager was Tommy Canarsky. All of the girls took part in Girls Glee and Girls Athletics. All were in Pep Club except 3. The Freshman cheerleaders for the second team were Judy Buchholz, Sherry Zobel, and Bette Benson. The members of the band were: Joan Larsen, Margery Raasch, and Joyce Neel. In Junior Band there were Carol Koehler and Bonnie Krueger. Freshman attendants to the King and Queen of Color Day were Sherry Zobel and Ronnie Leimer.
