SENIOR CLASS HISTORY We re back in the Corn-Husker state. As often as I've seen the Capitol, we went again. Myron Heise also had the same idea. Mike enjoyed his high school football so much that he is now coach at the University of Nebraska. Myron wants to support the University with enough boys for a football squad. Crowel has grown considerably since I last saw It (unless it's my spy glass). We made a landing to find out. We got a list of all the residences around the town, and who do you suppose we founa, Cynthia Buchholz. She and Jack are enjoying a happy wedded life on their farm. Mr. and Mrs. Shemat are about to have another visitor, Oh, no, cries Cynny, Another one of those agents? Yes, that's what it was. Driving a 1958 Cadillac, Vem Persson was about to make a sale. Vernon only turned out to be a Fuller Brush Man, driving his wife's car. Do I hear the mooing of a cow way up here? It seems impossible but Arlene Hermelbracht married a handsome young lad from Hartington and can’t get used to living in town, so plays her FrenchHom for the sound of a cow. Back to Bancroft we fly. John Bassett is still living in this old town. He and Diane have settled down and are running a chicken hatchery, buying grade A” eggs. John says his former classmates deserted Bancroft so he’d try to keep it up. Keith Oberhelman hasn't deserted though. He's making Millions on his farm near Bancroft. Keith married a girl from Lyons and has three sons to help him spend some of it. Tonight is a night to celebrate. The WNAX Bohemian Band is playing in Bancroft, we must go. Melbume Johnson is star Trumpet player for them. Johnson has decided to be a bachelor. It's amazing how anyone can get so chubby without a cook. Gee, but that sure was a short night 1 In the fall of 1948 the Seniors of '52 started out with twenty-nine Freshmen, twelve girls and seventeen boys. In 1951 twenty-three Seniors enrolled including a new member, Orlan Meske. Donald Larson left in die middle of the first semester leaving only twenty-two. The class elected the following officers early in the year: President, William Meyers; Vice President, Reynard Brehmer; Secretary, Cynthia Buchholz. The sponsors of the class were Mr. and Mrs. Yunek. The Senior girls were well represented in all activities. Janet Schilling was one of the cheerleaders. The Seniors who play in the high school band are: Cynthia Buchholz, Arlene Hermelbracht, George Gatzemeyer, Janice Kessinger, Elaine Kjeldgaard, Marilyn Lutjen, and Melbume Johnson. Reynard Brehmer, Marvin Gatzemeyer, Melvin Geisler, Myron Heise, Wesley Kolell, and Harold Sorensen went out for football. When basketball season rolled around George Gatzemeyer and Keith Oberhelman were added to the roster. John Bassett was student manager for both football and basketball. The student body elected Cynthia Buchholz and Reynard Brehmer King and Queen of Color Day and Marclle Samson and Wesley Kolell Senior attendants. The class chose as their colors, maroon and white: their flower, white rose; and their motto, Conduct and courage lead to honor .

SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY One night I had a strange dream, and in this dream I was riding in an airplane. My pal and I were using telescopes to spy on the world underneath us. We started at Bancroft, Nebraska, and made a trip around the world. And as we were floating along we decided to make a landing at Detroit, Michigan. Who did we see but Deraid Bargmann working on the assembly line, in a Ford factory. He told us that in his school days he thought there was no better car than a Chevrolet, but he suddenly changed his mind. OH! Another take-off. Whew, who just zoomed by??? My buddy said it was William Meyer in his new invention, a one man helicopter. We turned and followed him, and landed in New York City. Willy told us his life ambition is inventing. Let's go on to another part of the U. S. What sort of an explosion was that?? We made a landing at Chicago to find out about the explosion. Orland Meske just came out of the cloud of smoke so we naturally asked him what he was doing in it. He informed us that he had become a scientist after serving in the Navy for three years. Up in the air once more. We hired a pilot and are paying him one dollar an hour, that way we both can use the telescopes. I thought I saw a familiar figure, yessir, Harold Sorensen. We thought perhaps he would continue in sports but to our surprise has turned out to be a farmer at Decatur, Illinois. Again we go on. Who is it? Wesley Kolell picking away at the railroad, singing Tve been working on the railroad . Wes says It ain’t no fun . Flying on we make a stop at tile state of Minnesota. Mel Geisler looks pretty steamed up over something, wonder what it is? Mel says, Well what do you expect, alter hauling bundles all day? He tells us that in order to make a living for his family he hauls bundles in summer and scoops snow in the winter. We must be on our way. Could it be a rodeo in Arizona?? We make a landing once more. It was only Reynard Brehmer riding a brahma bull on his ranch. Reynard says there’s nothing to it, and our pilot was ready to try it after his speech, but we convinced him to stay with us as pilot. Whoops, guess we’d better make a landing on California 'cause all we can see is water. Los Angeles was our next tour. Seems to be a giant down on main street. I'd a never guessed it (WASHING WINDOWS) why George Gatzemeyer doesn't even need a step-ladder. Wish I had him as a husband, bet that wife of his doesn't wash windows. On to Hollywood, and we forget about the airplane a while and go to a movie. Marcile Samson appears on the screen. Marcile made her first appearance as a child of Ma and Pa Kettle's. Lets have some music at the Concert Hall. We received programs at the door which stated that Marilyn was first Cornet player. After the Concert we had a little chat with Marilyn, telling us that all her children axe to be Comet players. Not to Washington D.C. to see Harry S. Truman, but to the state of Washington to see General Marvin Gatzemeyer . He tells us that he and Marlene settled down and are going to raise little Generals . They live close to the Pacific Ocean, giving each a chance to jump in after a heavy quarrel. We are again sailing. Let's trail the Red Cross plane that just passed us. It made a landing at Omaha. It's pilot told us he needed fuel. Janice Kessinger stepped out for a little fresh air. We asxed her if she didn't feel well, being on this plane, but she informed us that she gave up the riding of horses and became a WAC. She told us that she and Janet Schilling had gone to the same nursing school. We arrived at the school the two girls had gone to and found where Janet had gone for her occupation. She is one of the greatest surgical nurses ever known. She plans on marrying one of the doctors she is working with. (They should have healthy children). Janet told us we could find Elaine Kjeldgaard in Omaha, too. Shore 'nough we went to the Pathfinder Hotel and found her. She is a professional ice skater and makes tours in the states performing on ice. You should have seen those muscles of hers.

SENIOR CLASS WILL I, John Bassett, bequeath my ability to drive a car to Jack Gardes. Maybe Jack won't have to wreck his car again. I, Orlan Meske, bequeath my late hours to Harlan Russman, who is still to young to be out. I, Vernon Persson, bequeath my ability to get along with the girls to Dean Kjeldgaard. Maybe he won't be a lone wolf in the future. I, Reynard Brehmer, bequeath my broad shoulders to Robert Raasch. Maybe his coat will fit better. I, George Gatzemeyer, bequeath my height to Lola Peterson. Maybe then we won't have to worry about her disappearing with the waste paper. I, Keith Oberhelman, bequeath some of my size to the football squad of 52 so they may keep on winning games. I, Melburne Johnson, bequeath my big blood shot eyes to Donald Luedert. Maybe they will help him make up for lost time. I, Elaine Kjelgaard, bequeath my ability to play soft ball to Marian Lase. Maybe then Marian will be another big league player. I, Harold Sorensen, bequeath my ability to take out girls to Lester Wegner. Maybe then Lester won’t have to be so shy. I, Deraid Bargmann, bequeath some of my weight to Dick Bargmann, this should even the score. I, Janet Schilling, bequeath my cheer leading ability to Marian Brehmer. Maybe she'll learn the words to the yells. I, Marcile Samson, bequeath Lester Wegner to no one because I want him myself. I, Marlene Munderloh, bequeath my ability in declam to Lola Peterson so she can keep up the good work. I, William Meyer, bequeath my height to Duane Beutler so he can look down on his classmates instead of up. I, Marilyn Lutjen, bequeath my ability to drive to Norma Block who 1 think could use it. I, Arlene Hermelbracht, bequeath my ability to feed calves to Betty Gatzemeyer so maybe she will have some blue ribbon winners. I, Janice Kessinger, Dequeath my ability of riding horses to Roger Flock. Maybe that will shake some weigpt off. I, Melvin Geisler, bequeath my ability of running to Wayne Mielke. Maybe he will be able to catch Roger at noon. I, Myron Heise, bequeath my ability to catch passes to Paul Leiiger. Maybe then Paul will go out for football next year. I, Marvin Gatzemeyer, bequeath my personality to the future Seniors, so they will have no trouble in getting along with the teachers next year. I, Cynthia Buchholz, bequeath my ability to do office work to Anita Bray so she can keep up the good work. I, Wesley Kolell, bequeath the West Point girls to no one because I want them myself. We the Senior Class, do make this our last will and testament and will the above to our underclassmen to do with as they see fit. Signed and sealed in the presence of witnesses by our class President.
