Franklin Frye, the very fine LHB and all-stater, was replaced by Bobby Clary, who turned in a fine job. Sonny Beard ably filled in at the left end spot, vacated by Leroy Frye. Sophomore Guy Everhart took up where Willard Utsey left off at the left guard slot. Jimmy Kemp, regular center last year, was switched to right tackle replacing M.ike Tomlinson. Ken Hartley, a junior with loads of desire, was the center. Bill Robinson, a senior, went to right guard as a regular. -He replaced Gene Sandifer, team captain and best line blocker, at guard, when Sandifer was shifted to fill the left tackle position, replacing the excellent blocking Wayne Hughes, who graduated. Linemen Bubba Utsey, Jolly Blume, and Frampton Gunuels gave a good account of themselves when called upon. Marvin Sandifer was the capable quarterback reserve. The team was again coached by Dick Weldon, who employed the Split T attack with variations. TOMMY BUNCH and CLINT MORRIS - f,-we t -amass f 'irr W Q, emi - - rn .
