1: arg Vt 2- wf NAUONAL HGNOHSGCETY TUTORS FOR OTHER BARONS This year, the National Honor Society has sponsored various programs to aid students at BAHS. Their main activity was the tutoring of students in math and science. As a result of this, many students showed great improve- ment in their school grades. Also, NHS sold baked goods during lunch in order to finance their in- duction ceremony, which is held during the spring of each school year. With all the assistance giv- en by dedicated members to the school and student body, NHS has shown itself an active and important part of BAHS. Mem- bers included: President - Je- any Tri, Vice President - Steve Talbott, Treasurer- Natalie Hen- son, Secretary - Bret Rogers, Parliamentarian - Chris Barry, Historian - Amy Town and Sponsor - Dr. Francis. The Great Outdoors l-IINTERBRAND We 'E' Ji -...tit Ever get up at 6:30 in the morning in January, put on a pair of shorts, go running, and take a dip in an ice cold mountain stream? That's just one of the things the group did while staying at Hinterbrand Lodge this year. The week long trip included many mind and body building activities - everything from cooking food to rappeling down the side ot a mountain. The group was forced to work together on a map reading course in order to tackle an obstacle course. After the obstacle course, our fearless BAHS group put on skis and tack- led the cross country trails. The Bamberg High School group included sponsor Richard Edwards, and students Andy Atkinson, Mitch Feller, Mike Adams, Gene Robbins, Eric Feller, Frank Neblett, and Randy Kuykendall. Other students and sponsors from Europe shared in the adventure. 82 l-linterbrand f , -Q, ,,,,'f-.f ,-.14 .,. , ,,,.,y ,I 1 , , ZAA - ,iff

TALENTED AND GIFTED TAG has had another success- ful year with many new activities implemented. One new addition to the program was the weekly meetings with the TAG sponsor, lvls. Culbertson. Creativity, brain functions, leadership qualifica- tions, and motivation were dis- cussed at the meetings. Stu- dents are selected based on scores on standardized tests and teacher recommendations. Most students scored at least in the 90th percentile. Some ideas be- ing considered by the group are various field trips, such as a trip to the Rhine River and a trip to Bonn to see how the German government functions. These mo- tivated young adults may be to- morrow's leaders. i 14 3 411 X .l 14. 3 i i TAG ,..,.....- A83
