The Cadets of BHS The 1987-88 Bamberg AJROTC was active and alive in many community and school activities this year. They presented the colors at the beginning of each pep assembly, as well as performing for Family Week at JFK Gym. SIVIALL STAFF ATTEIVIPTS T0 KEEP NEWSPAPER ALIVE A lack of support for Bamberg l-ligh's school pub- lication, the TOWN CRIEFR, forced editor-in-chief Shel- ley Joy to reduce the projected editions from 5 to 4. The small but dedicated staff consisted of Jen Ward, Diana Vierra, Sheila Coupet, William Whitehead, Dawn Holdorf, Jodie l-lousley, and Alex Burnard. The sponsors, Mr. Luken, Mr. Krauchi, and Mrs. Krauchi, taught their staff, some of who had never worked with a newspaper before, how to put a paper together. I' . rg GEDMMmi CULTUDE CLUB The newly established German Club at BHS has been busy this year with many exchange programs and field trips. At the beginning of the year, the German Club went to the famous Christkindlemarkt in Nurnberg. ln the fall, German students came from Wunsiedel to be tutored in English. Each American student had 3 to 4 students to tutor and either had the choice to stay at their homes or to sleep in the gym with the club's sponsor, Frau Lind. ln order for the students to improve their German, they will be visiting a German school in March and staying in German homes to better understand German culture and improve their speaking abilities.
