AWARD WINNING CHEERLEADERS sEE l3ARClNS ON TO vicronv The 1987-1988 cheerleading squad sponsored by lvlrs. Jan Han- son garnered two superior rating rib- bons and one excellent rating rib' bon at the National Cheerleading Spirit Clinic. They also brought home a coveted spirit stick to Bam' berg High, The cheerleaders were busy on I and off the field. When they weren't cheering the Barons on to victory, they were busy pre- paring signs and banners and routines. They were also seen bagging at Foodland. it piriterl Hnmemming The Vilseck Falcons left Bamberg with their feathers dragging in the mud after the Barons blasted them away during the 1987 Homecoming game. During the bat- tle, the Barons' strength and spirit blew the Falcons to new heights. How did the football team get so energized? Well, it all began with Spirit Week, during which the whole school showed what Baron power meant. They dressed for l.ife's-a-beach day, 50's day, and nerd day, but on Fri- day, all spirit was released as the student body dressed in the school colors, send- ing blue and gold shockwaves down our halls. The activities during lunch were met with equal enthusiasm. Not only did peo- ple sacrifice their diets to gobble down jars of peanut butter, they also willingly gave up their allowances to give Kell Stovall a sweet pie in the face. Was it all worth it? Our victory speaks for itself. During half-time of the Homecoming Game, our Homecoming court was crowned. King Curtis Thomas and Queen Rhonda Stoffel proudly led Juniors Ediude Pecson and Dawn Holdorf, Sophomores James Northington and Kim Thomas, and Freshmen Eric Feller and Michelle Pete onto the field to receive a royal applause.
