Bamberg's ROTC was active and alive in 1985-86! The cadets of the 51st AJROTC Battalion led a very active role in support of communi- ty and school activities. The ac- tivities included numerous perfor- mances by various Color Guards, Fancy Drill Team demonstrations, support of the Community NEO exercises, Buddy Poppy sales for the VFW and performances for the Armed Forces European Exchange System Appreciation Day 85 . In addition the cadets proved knowledgeable of basic military skills having participated in exten- sive hands on training with the MIGAI Rifle and Gas Chamber Exercises. The most enjoyable day of each week was Class Av uniform inspection day. During that period each cadet was in- spected for appearance, military bearing and general knowledge of the AJ ROTC. Bamberg Sent Delegation To New York . 'Sl 5 ii awry 1 uf- I . an I . R A Some of the delegates visited the Nicaraguan Embassy in Bonn Where they talked to the am- bassador, who answered many of their questions about Nicaragua. Based on what the ambassador told them and what they already knew, the delegates wrote, polish- ed, and repolished their resolutions until they were ready to go. Each delegate wrote a resolution for their MUN committees. The resolution dealt with whatever the committee was to talk about. Then on the first day there, the delegates walked around and approached other people on their committee and tried to convince them to sign and support their resolution. Although it wasn't a vacation, and despite all the hard work they put in, the delegates had a good time and somehow survived the hectic week. MUN continued through the Spring when a delegation from BAHS attended the NHSMUN in New York City. x
