The Student Council led an ac tive year sponsoring activities for its student constituency as well as working with others to improve the quality of life Within the school and outside in the community at large. Working with several communi- ty groups the council sought to assist the DYA in publicizing its activities and improving its teen related offerings, assist and im- prove in the lunch program at the school, enlist support for a full time teen counselor at the school, and support the Red Cross in its effort to solicit youth involvement in the Red Cross service. The council also scheduled and coordinated all homecoming and spirit week festivities. Bamberg Represents icaragua At The Model United ations 1986 Called the cold sore of Central America , Bamberg High School's delegation to the Model United Nations in the Hague represented the country of Nicaragua. The delegates were Chris Lowell, Laura Rader, Christine O'Brien, Katie Liermann, Steve Liermann, Winston Campbell, and Rachelle Fitch. Their sponsor was Mrs. Rushing. Chris Lowell was the delegationls ambassador and Christine O'Brien gave the coun- try's opening speech before the General Assembly of 2,000. Even before they went to the Hague, the delegates put in lots of hard work. They sponsored a raffle and sold food at the Basketball games. Oops . . . !7l4C9'p7'f8z!'l Boy, this typing is hard work!
