Bottom Raw: Mr. Stall, Adviser: Peter Trager, Vice-Presidentg Steven ' ' Sklar, President. m S -lune l960 began its first year at City unsure, un- certain, and hesitant of its every move. They walked slowly and examined every step carefully. As time passed and they gained confidence in both themselves and their work, the boys began to feel that they were a part of City College - in its classrooms, its social and scholastic activities, and on the athletic field. They began to associate themselves with every facet of City College life and to participate to their fullest extent. XVith Nlr. Clay Stall as their adviser, the boys organized their class. Though they held their elections late in the school year, they were still able to organize and adjust themselves and to function as a unit. In a very close and exciting election, Steve Sklar was elected President: Pete Trager, Vice-Presidentg -lay Caplan, Secretary: l,arry Gibson, Treasurerg and Sheldon Bearman, Ser- geant-at-Arms. Their first social and money making activity was the Soph Hop, This dance, a well supported affair - successful in every way g gave the class of l960 a fast start. .-Ks for the mid-sophomores, they held their elections in Nlarch. .Xt this time Richard Hess, Dudley Cheno- weth, Kenny Xvilliams, Russell Nlc-Kay, and Richard Spies were President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasur- er, and Sergeant-at-Arms respectively, Nlr. Joseph Schwarz, the adviser, commented that he was sorry all of the candidates could not hold offices, for he felt that they were all capable and qualified to assume respon- sibilities. ln February, this class became juniors, taking the big step from underclassmen to upperclassmen, ffk -.mil 'lihe tenth-graders were responsible for the geometry exhibit which was lfatly lo itssllllle tlle leiitlefsllip of their t'l'tOSCI1 School. once again a tremendous start-ss. Ihev show great promise of becoming one of the ' c finest mid-year class ever to be graduated from Citv.
