This year the Music Department expanded its courses by offering an optional five-string Banjo class. The sessions were held after school on a voluntary, no-credit basis. The Art Department offered a different approach to the study of art this year. By having a daily block in Ceramics, Drawing and Painting and Design Lab, students were able to study art for two hours, receiving two credits instead of the usual one. Programs were continued training students in the fields of machine operation and aircraft assembly, the latter being sponsored by Boeing. Librar Introduces New Facilities Change was evident in the library this year with the acquisition of two new librarians. Mr. Ernest Schottg formerly librarian at Cleveland and Lincoln High Schools and Mrs. Priscilla Stixroodg formerly librarian at Asa Mercer junior High School. One of the most significant changes this year was the microfilm reader-printer. This machine condensed magazines onto microfilm which, when magnified on the reader-printer, enabled students to obtain information from certain articles. A copy of a page from a microfilmed magazine could be duplicated on this machine. The library acquired, on microfilm, some of the most widely read national magazines. The Xerox machine, another new addition to the library, enabled students to obtain copies of pages of regular magazines and books for their individual use. .J , Q f' we-axe Regina Cusworth Ernest Schott Priscilla Stixrood Library Secretary Head Librarian Assistant Librarian MAGAZINES Peter Kudenchuk takes advantage of our periodical library.
