'ff The John Hay Whitney Scholarship Foundation has been in existence for the past five years, Each year a Ballard High School teacher has been awarded one of the scholarships offered by the foundation. Ballard is proud of this record, for no other high school in the United States has had a scholarship winner each of the five years. The scholarship consists of a stipend equal to the salary a teacher would receive if he were teaching in- stead of attending college. ln addition to this stipend, he receives tuition and first-class rail transportation to the university in which he will be studying. ,-5 Voeks, Forrest Mathematics Heads Mathematics Dept.
