CS QI' UI C Q A l anof J GA1'1Qs'f1Zz121Q 11 1 R ii .Wwe n-1's -'f Service to others is characteristic of both the Red Cross junior chapter and the Christian Fellowship at our school. In the annual Red Cross member- ship drive this year, Miss Lillian Nicholsonss class, above, led in voluntary contributions. With Adrian Brachfeld in charge, at right, the chapter discussed its part in Civil Defense. Gfrzbfzdn gem 603640 Under the sponsorship of Mrs. Allena B. Jackson, this group promotes what its name implies. It helps with arranging for prayer leadership, as pictured be- low, for the two cafeteria lunch periods daily. It provides inspirational programs, with guest speakers. One of its projects is the filling of food baskets for the needy at Thanksgiving time. Its ideals include those expressed in the Ten Commandments for Teenagersf, This philosophy was copied from the American Junior Red Cross Journal. 1. Stop and think before you drink. 2. Don't let your parents down, they brought you up. 3. Be humble enough to obey. You will be giving orders your- self some day. 4. At the first moment turn away from unclean thinking-at the first moment. 5. Don't show off when driving. If you want to race, go to Indianapolis. 6. Choose a date who would make a good mate. 7. Go to church faithfully. The Creator gives us a week. Give Him back an hour. 8. Avoid 'following the crowd.' Be an engine, not a caboose. 9. Choose your companions carefully. You are what they are. Or even better-keep the original Ten Commandments. fAdopted by the Federation of Catholic High Schools at its 1955 convention.J fOn BHS students' page of memories for March, 1957, will 4. be the unforgettable motion picture The Ten Commandments.
