CHARLES JANNACH, principal, was calling the meeting to order. And now LLOYD WEBER, head of the science department, will introduce the new teachers, he said. We are privileged to have two eminent physicists working as a partnership, Mr. Weber said. JANE NOEL will teach the textbook material, while SALLY VORIS performs the ex- periments. DELORES HAUS has been added to the English department. LAURA BECKER will teach the course in calculus this year, and MARGARET SYKES will instruct students in basket-weaving. The last addition to our faculty is DONNA WILBUR. librarianf' Mr. Weber concluded. And now we are privileged to have as our guest speaker, the well-known author and D... t adventurer, JAMES BRADNER. who will tell us about his book, 'I Sold the First Yo-Yo.' based on his real experiences. the principal said. Thank you, said Mr. Bradner. I started from Galveston in a rocket designed by STANLEY BABB and CHARLES CALLERY. ROBERT EANES went along as pilot while DOUGLAS KOEPPE was hired to be interpreter. I took Dr. BILLY MARR just in case anything went wrong because of the food cooked by BENNETTE BOS. A fellow salesman. FRANK URBANIC, went along to sell o a e's Copper Cuspidors, a product manufactured by COPPAGE. GRACE WILLIAMS, feature e lor of the maga- zine, LIVE DANGEROUSLY ND DIE YOUNG, and BARBARA WATSON, of the Texas MOURNING TIMES,were the first women reporters ever to visit Mars. When our rocket landed at jonesville, Mars, we were met by the mayor DICK JONES who had moved there to 'forget' MARIAN WILLIAMS. ' Miss Poduck Junction of 1965. ' It was to Dick I sold my first yo-yo manufactured by the Company of Cranfield and this streamlined yo-yo was designed by CLAUDIA KNOPP and FRANCIS SMITH. Many tourists from Earth were on Mars. I saw Dr. ANDREW JACKSON, and those two 'mad' artists. JODY CAMERON and LORETTA BROWN. At the Mars Matinee Theater I saw a performance of 'Gone With the Cyclone' starring MARY NICOLAIDIS and WALLACE PELLERIN. JEDD GREEN's dance band was playing at the Rocket Room featuring TOMMY HALL on the sax, and ,IO LOIS ALESSI at the calliope. ARNOLD ROLAK was master of ceremonies there. Just before we left Mars, we saw the rocket carrying MERRILL WALLACH and ABBIE HUGHES, the ukulele and guitar combination fwhich had been banished from earthj land. I enjoyed my trip very much and would like to thank this Ball High faculty for the opportunity of being guest speaker. At the conclusion of the meeting something sounding like a fire engine siren was heard. but later it was ascertained to be only MARCIA ORMSBY playing the violin while JANE S Q ' PEEK sang at the opening of the ZUCKER Zipper Corporation across the street. sw' ,...
