Motto: "Let us be known by our deeds."
Back in the days when Baldwin-Wallace
College had not yet come into being and
Baldwin University was in existence, Alpha
Kappa Sigma had its beginning.
Originally, it was known as the Alethian
Society, a club formed in the interests of the
promotion of the study of literature.
Again in l862 a similar organization was
formed under the title of the Clianian Society,
and now, for a time, the two groups existed
separately as rival societies.
Finally in l9l 8 the two groups were united
to form what is presently known as Alpha
Kappa Sigma.
