Mep- ham now had a string of 99 straight wins under its hell and Baldwin was rated as the only team with even a chalice to stop them. ln the opening match, Purdy put Rynlander away with a chicken wing and body press to capture a 5-0 lead. Dick Hall next came out on the short end of an B-6 count and Dick Samuels lost the take down and was reversed by Nodland for a 41-O defeat. With seconds to go. Longman got an escape against Fisher and gained a draw in his match. Baldwin's hopes started to steam when Col- lins at 135 beat Watts, 6-4, and Holmberg came through with an exciting 10-6 victory over Gobetz. This put Baldwin ahead, 13-6, but lVlepham would not he denied. Murtha, Downey, Feri- ola, and Norton were defeated and Mepham won its 100th match, 22-13. Baldwin finished the season with triumphs of 35-5 over Oceanside, 25-13 against Long Beach and 23-16 over Lindenhurst. Say Uncle! Dick Norton resists a far arm and underhook.
